Recently, we were delighted to host a cookery evening with personal trainer Ophelia Hogan, an informal, engaging event centred around food for wellbeing, simple techniques and practical advice that guests could take home and use straight away.
The idea was simple: to bring people together around food, to demonstrate how a well-designed kitchen supports healthy living and easy hosting, and to raise funds for the food education charity, Cegin y Bobl.
A Relaxed and Informative Evening.
Ophelia prepared three dishes focused on gut health and overall wellbeing, talking through ingredients, flavour combinations and preparation techniques as she cooked. Guests gathered around the island, watching everything come together and asking questions throughout.
There was plenty of discussion about everyday habits, time-saving approaches for busy households and how to build balanced, satisfying meals without overcomplicating things. It was practical, accessible and realistic.
Once the dishes were ready, everyone stayed to eat, chat and continue the conversation, hosted in our showroom kitchen.
We were also pleased that the evening raised funds in support of Cegin y Bobl and their work in food education across Wales. Supporting initiatives that encourage cooking, confidence and connection around food is something we feel strongly about, and it was wonderful to combine design, wellbeing and community for a shared purpose.
The Showroom in Action.
Evenings like this matter to us because they allow the showroom to function exactly as it was designed to.
Rather than simply being a display space, it becomes a working kitchen. Guests moved naturally around the island, gathered at the worktops and experienced first-hand how layout, flow and lighting shape the way a space feels.
As a family-run, design-led kitchen company, we care deeply about how kitchens perform in real life. They should feel intuitive when full of people and just as comfortable in the quiet of a weekday morning. They should be built to last, not only in craftsmanship, but in how they continue to support your life as it evolves.
Seeing the showroom used in this way reinforces why we design the way we do.
Building Community.
Hosting events is one of the ways we bring the showroom to life and build community around Cymru Kitchens. Collaborating with trusted local partners, opening our doors and creating shared experiences allows people to see beyond materials and finishes, and experience the kitchen in use.
We have many more events planned in the coming months and would love to welcome you along.
