Sinead & Tom came to us feeling their existing kitchen lacked warmth, personality and effective storage. As busy professionals with two young children, the kitchen needed to support everyday cooking, dining and family time in one shared space. Ease of maintenance, intuitive storage and the ability to keep the room looking tidy were essentials.

Reversing the original layout, with the hob moved to the island and the sink relocated to the back wall, transformed how the space functioned. This change improved organisation, enhanced social interaction and made the kitchen far easier to keep calm and uncluttered.

Relocating services required careful investigation to ensure new cabling and waste runs could be introduced without disturbing the existing floor tiles. Detailed surveys and pre-construction planning allowed the redesign to be delivered seamlessly while preserving the finishes the clients loved.

What excited us most was the opportunity to add genuine value through a thoughtful reworking of the layout. The design direction combined bold colour and texture with intelligent planning to create a kitchen that felt expressive yet highly functional.

Sinead had a clear understanding of her style and direction of the kitchen scheme, and worked closely with Isobel, our in-house interior designer, to pinpoint the exact shades to use on the cabinetry and walls. A deep green, joyful yellow and soft plaster pink all featured in the chosen woodland nature themed wallpaper that ties the colour choices together perfectly throughout the space. While the dark stained oak complimented and added another layer of interest without being over powering. The result is a confident, characterful kitchen that works effortlessly for family life and truly reflects the people who live there.

Cymru Kitchens enlisted all of the relevant trades to complete the full kitchen transformation managing the project from start to finish. This allowed the family to carry on with both of their full time careers, while our team worked hard in the background to minimise the distribution of removing and reinstalling a new kitchen and utility room as much as possible.

The dark stained oak is carried through into the drinks station, where bi-fold doors and open shelving create a practical yet elegant feature, and continues into the media wall with a bespoke wine shelf. Using the same material across these elements helps tie the spaces together, giving the home a cohesive, considered feel.

In a tight space under the stairs we delivered a compact utility room. Stacking the washing machine and tumble dryer allowed us to squeeze in a small sink in front of the window, and as much storage as possible, all crafted and scribed to the angle of the ceiling.
